Nam Ngiep 1 is a hydropower project under operation in the central provinces of the Lao PDR. The Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company (NNP1PC), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International Company Limited, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is operating a 290-MW hydropower project to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction in Laos. To assist in creating and operating a world-class hydropower project with international-standard environmental and social programs, NNP1PC is looking for a potential candidate to fill in the following position.

POSITION: Civil operator

Location: Owner’s Site Office and Village in Hat Ngiun Village, Bolikhan District, Bolikhamxay province.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform civil works maintenance and supervision of remedial-maintenance and repairing works on site in order to ensure compliance to the design, engineering and standards, and operation manuals,
• Manage data, update operation records related to water management for power generation operation,
• Update dam instrumentation monitoring results and records, engineering issues and all works (office and site work) related to remedial-maintenance and repairing works,
• Conduct Water Gate operation,
• Perform civil works maintenance on architectural buildings and hydro-metal facilities,
• Make records and reports,
• Assist in managing Operation and Maintenance contractor,
• Assist the Deputy Manager – Engineering / Planning / Operation and Maintenance, and
• Perform other tasks when required.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• At least Diploma’s Degree in a specialized field appropriate to the job,
• Accuracy work performance is required,
• Self-starter with good working attitude and ability to multi-tasking,
• Good teamwork oriented,
• Able to work under pressure and unsupervised,
• Good English communication and coordination skills,
• Good computing skills (EXCEL, WORD, Power Point, CAD), and
• Under 30 years old.
