JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN HYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENT

Nam Ngiep 1 is a hydropower project under operation in the central provinces of the Lao PDR. The Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company (NNP1PC), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International Company Limited, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is operating a 290-MW hydropower project to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction in Laos. To assist in creating and operating a world-class hydropower project with international-standard environmental and social programs, NNP1PC is looking for the following staff:

POSITION:  Officer – Information Technology

Location: Owner Site Office and Village in Hat Ngiun Village, Bolikhan District, Bolikhamxay province

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, operate, back up and patch NNP1PC Information Technology (IT) servers including Microsoft Active Directory servers, Virtualization servers and File Sharing server at the Owner Site Office and Village (OSOV),
• Manage and operate network equipment including switch, router, firewall and wireless access points at OSOV1 & 2,
• Provide support for NNP1PC including troubleshooting software and hardware problem at OSOV1 & 2,
• Manage and provide support for Microsoft Exchange Online Service,
• Manage contracts and service agreements with IT companies,
• Plan and recommend IT procedure for NNP1PC,
• Plan and make request for procurement of IT related equipment or devices,
• Register and record all IT equipment and devices,
• Repair and maintain IT equipment and devices when required at OSOV1 & 2,
• Prepare and coordinate weekly update on IT Activities, and
• Perform other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma/Bachelor degree in computer engineering, computer science or related field,
• At least three years of work experience in IT industry (with international organization is a plus),
• Expertise in Microsoft Server including Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange,
• Expertise in Networking such as designing or operating network system,
• Expertise in Linux Operating System, Microsoft Operating System, Android and iOS,
• Expertise in Web technology,
• Expertise in at least one programming language (PHP, VB Script),
• Knowledge of system security methods and techniques,
• Knowledge of Database Management System (Microsoft SQL server),
• Knowledge of application on MS SharePoint is a plus
• Good command of verbal and written English
