Opportunities for young people at Nam Ngiep 1 Project

Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company Limited (NNP1PC) has provide 171 scholarship to young people since 2014.  Out of these, 111 has been awarded for students from Project-affected communities who have completed high school and want to pursue higher education at a recognized college or university for a study period of three to seven years.  The remaining 30 scholarships are for vocational training courses.

In 2018, the Company has provided 30 scholarships.  Out of these, 20 were awarded for female local communities to attend a tailoring course at NNP1PC Resource Center in Phouhomxay Village, Bolikhan District, Bolikhamxay province.  The course was completed.

The training on electricians by four young people was also completed and the training on car mechanics by six people is expected to be completed in October 2018.  Both trainings are conducted at Nasiew Vocational Development Center, Naxaythong Village, Vientiane Capital.

Upon completion of the training, the students will receive a certificate and the skills they learn will be used for their future career.
