Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and EGATi Company Limited senior management visited Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project on August 31, 2018 in Bolikhan District, Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR to see the progress of the construction and environmental and social aspects of the Project.
During the site visit, they visited the main dam and main powerhouse, Phouhomxay Resettlement Area, and Phouhomxay Resource.
Construction of Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project was started at the end of 2014 with construction progress is more than 96% at the end of July 2018. Electricity generation is expected in 2019 and approximately 95% of this power will be sold to Thailand and the remaining will be used for domestic consumption.
