On August 6, 2019 Lieutenant Khamlieng Outhakaison – Chairman of Provincial Resettlement and Livelihood Restoration Committee (PRLRC), Xaysomboun Provincial Governor, and Dr. Kongkeo Xaysongkham – Vice Chairman of PRLRC, Bolikhamxay Provincial Governor and their delegates visited the Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project in Bolikhan District, Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR to see the progress of the construction and environmental and social aspects of the Project.

During the visit, they visited the main dam and main powerhouse and the re-regulation dam.  They also visited Phouhomxay Resettlement Village nearby the Project and provided direction on community development to the local authorities.

The construction of Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project which was started at the end of 2014 has made a significant progress with the Commercial Operation Date scheduled in the third quarter of 2019.
