Gol Relations Officer

Full Time


Nam Ngiep1 is a hydropower project under construction in the central provinces of the Lao PDR. The Nam Ngiep1 Power Company (NNP1), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International of Thailand, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is building a 290-MW power plant to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction. To assist in creating a world-class power plant with international-standard environmental and social programs, Nam Ngiep1 is looking for the following Gol Relations Officer (Lao nationals preferred):

POSITION: Gol Relations Officer
(Based in Vientiane Office )

- Enhance collaboration and good relationship on relation activities with government agencies, Ministries, local authorities, and key people in the community
- Manage administrative works of Government Relations in Vientiane Office
- Facilitate and assist the Company to obtain applicable approvals from Government of Laos (GoL);
- Monitor and coordinate with GoL in regards to Concession Agreement
- Make appointments and arrange meetings
- Assist in preparation of reports
- Translate documents from English to Lao and vice versa
- Participate in GoL events or activities
- Participate in meeting and take minutes
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management team or as requested by others to support internal divisions
- Visit affected communities/villages sometimes together with the Environmental and Social team
- Assist in coordination with all government levels including local, provincial and central government
- Report each trip and all activities directly to Manager – Communications and Government Relations

- At least three years of work experience in government relations, coordination or in related field
- Highly knowledgeable of GoL structures and applicable rules and regulations
- Bachelor Degree in Administration, Business, Tourism or English
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Lao language
- Microsoft Office is mandatory
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Mature thinking and attention to details
