JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN HYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENT
Nam Ngiep1 is a hydropower project under construction in the central provinces of the Lao PDR. The Nam Ngiep1 Power Company (NNP1), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International of Thailand, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is building a 290-MW power plant to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction. To assist in creating a world-class power plant with international-standard environmental and social programs, Nam Ngiep1 is looking for the following (Lao nationals preferred):
POSITION: Architectural Engineer
(Based in Site office and Village )
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To supervise structural, mechanical and electrical works for the buildings of Main Powerhouse, Re- regulation Powerhouse, Dam Control Center and the other related buildings in line with the Civil Work Contract (CWC) to meet required quality, schedule, cost and safety
- To review structural, mechanical and electrical designs for the buildings of Main Powerhouse, Re- regulation Powerhouse, Dam Control Center and the other related buildings in the project
- To review contractor’s documents including but not limited to working drawings, detailed works programs, material information for procurement and construction works
- To inspect and witness equipment and materials and the construction works at the site required under CWC
- To ensure adoption of all environmental & social, safety measures during the construction works of CWC (including coordination with Environmental and Social Division of NNP1PC)
- To make and maintain records for the construction works (including Varied Works)
- To coordinate the other sections of Electrical and Mechanical Works, Hydraulic Metal Works, and Transmission Line Works within NNP1PC
- To report related works above to and be responsible to the superiors in NNP1PC

QUALIFICATIONS:
- More than10 years’ experience on structural, mechanical and electrical works for building and hydropower plant construction
- Good negotiation skills, strategy and communication based on knowledge of international contracts
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering
- Self-starter with good working attitude and ability to multi-tasks
- Leadership, communication and coordination skills
- Able to work under pressure and unsupervised
- Good cross-cultural communication skill and cooperative attitude
- Good PC skills (AUTO CAD, EXCEL, WORD, PowerPoint)
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills;
- Good skill in writing, speaking, recording and reporting in English.
