Communications and Government Relations Officer

Full Time


Nam Ngiep 1 is a hydropower project under construction in the central provinces of the Lao PDR.  The Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company (NNP1PC), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International Company Limited, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is building a 290-MW power plant to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction.   To assist in creating a world-class power plant with international-standard environmental and social programs, Nam Ngiep 1 is looking for potential candidates to fill in the following position.

POSITION: Communications and Government Relations Officer

(Based in Vientiane Office with frequent travel to Site Office and Village, Bolikhan District, Bolikhamxay Province)


  • Be a focal point for all communications and government relations related matters.
  • Develop communication plan.
  • Build and maintain corporate identity of NNP1PC.
  • Help draf press releases and place them in local media and NNP1PC website and social media.
  • Build and maintain good relationship with local media.
  • Take photos and video about project activities and package them as slides shows or short video clips and upload them to NNP1PC website and social media.
  • Update NNP1PC Website and social media sites (facebook and youtube) with latest news, and project activities.
  • Produce promotional materials for the Project.
  • Attend trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Assist in management of events/ceremonies and site visit, and important meetings.
  • Develop and maintain visual archive of the company, and
  • Perform other tasks when required.


  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related fields.
  • At least two years of work experience in communications, public relations or government relations.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience, preferably in multi-cultural work environment.
  • Experience in video production and editing.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Lao.
  • Ability to travel and work onsite as required, and
  • Well versed in Design Creative suites e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premier.
