JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN HYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENT

Nam Ngiep 1 is a hydropower project under construction in the central provinces of the Lao PDR.  The Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company (NNP1PC), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International Company Limited, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is building a 290-MW power plant to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction.   To assist in creating a world-class power plant with international-standard environmental and social programs, Nam Ngiep 1 is looking for the following staff (a Lao national is preferred):

POSITION: SCADA ENGINEER OF ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT

(Based in Site Office, Hatgniun Village, Bolikhan District)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To manage technical requirements in the maintenance, operations and security of corporate Information Technology Systems, networks and infrastructure in various on-site and off-site locations.
• To develop and implement the standards and procedures and policies for Plant Control and Instrumentation Systems, Plant Communications and Information Technology Systems and Security System.
• To perform Plant Control and Instrumentation Systems engineering design, re-engineering, alteration/modification, integration and implementation on various plant systems.
• To perform plant performance engineering, maintenance record analysis, troubleshooting of plant abnormal condition including process and equipment breakdown failure analysis and testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor Degree or certificate or related field.
• More than one year of related experience (e.g. Plant Control and Plant Communications) in the field of hydropower plant.
• Excellent time management skills; ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• MS Office package.

The successful candidate will work for operation & maintenance of electrical and mechanical works and other related works in Nam Ngiep1 Project under Operation and Maintenance Deputy Manager of Electrical and Mechanical Department of Technical Division of Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company Limited, and reports directly to and is instructed by the Operation and Maintenance Deputy Manager.
