JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN HYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENT
Nam Ngiep 1 is a hydropower project under construction in the central provinces of the Lao PDR. The Nam Ngiep 1 Power Company (NNP1PC), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International Company Limited, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is building a 290-MW power plant to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction. To assist in creating a world-class power plant with international-standard environmental and social programs, Nam Ngiep 1 is looking for the following staff (a Lao national preferred):
POSITION: YOUTH DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
(Based in Pakxan Office, Pakxan District, Bolikhamxay Province)
Supports the social Development team and relevant team in implementing Social Development Annual
Implementation Plan in particular activities of youth Participation in Development that implemented at
Phouhomxay and host communities. These include awareness campaign on life skills, Adolescent Health,
Education Development, Sport Performance, Human Trafficking, Road Safety and drug-free communities.
Provides input to the implementation of life skills, Adolescent Health, Education Development, Sport
Performance Human Trafficking, Road Safety and drug-control communities.
Coordinates with the GoL counterparts, local authorities and villagers to ensure that the youth group and plan
are implemented in a timely and effectively manner.
Prepares report on the youth group outcomes to the NNP1PC, village and district activities on weekly, monthly
and quarterly basis.
Supports village authorities to establish a mass organization in order to collect information on Youth Adolescent
Group, Structure and Plan.
Drafts a plan to establish the mass organization chart, structure and plan.
Assists in organizing village meeting (invitation, disseminating, prepare the venue and agenda) and prepare
minute of meeting.
Coordinates with other teams of the NNP1PC to ensure that Youth Group is effectively involved in the
Communicates with field officers or other team members such as teachers, health workers, livelihoods to better
know activities that youth group could participate.
Performs other issues in relation to Social development as needed.
University Degree or Diploma on Social Sciences.
Good English speaking skills
Know and speak a local language (Hmong) would be an advantage.
MS Office package.
