Nam Ngiep1 is a hydropower project under construction in the central provinces of the Lao PDR. The Nam Ngiep1 Power Company (NNP1), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International of Thailand, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is building a 290-MW power plant to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction.  To assist in creating a world-class power plant with international-standard environmental and social programs, Nam Ngiep 1 is looking for the Livelihood Team leader (a Lao national preferred) as follow:

(Based in Houay Soup Resource Center, Bolikhan District, Bolikhamxay Province)

 Arranges for the day to day management of the Livelihood team, including, but not limited to; scheduling,
assigning tasks, review leave requests, staff training and assist in conducting staff performance assessments.
 Provide information from the Livelihood Team for inclusion in the MPR and other reporting requirements.
 Proposes, designs, organize and supervise studies into current livelihood activities and models practiced by PAPs
in the different project zones.
 Manages the implementation and reports on the outcomes of all activities conducted at the HSRC
 Based on current livelihood models, available resources and market opportunities develop a menu of livelihood
activities for PAPs to choose from.
 Prepares cost benefit, labour inputs and material input requirements and return on investment models for the
livelihood activities in easy to understand forms.
 Together with the head of Houay Soup Resource Center, design and implement the work concept of HSRC.
 Manages the implementation and reports on the outcomes of all activities conducted at the HSRC
 Together with the Demonstration Farm team, designs and implements experiments to be conducted at the
demonstration farm, based on the livelihood models developed for the project.
 Manages the implementation of the livelihood activity demonstration and training to be conducted in HSRA,
Zone 4 and Zone 5.
 Performs other tasks related to livelihood activities in the Environmental and Social Division as they may arise
and are reasonably assigned by the Deputy Manager –Resettlement and Livelihood Restoration or the Manager –
Social Management Office.

 University degree in Agriculture or related field.
 Minimum 10 years of work experience, preferably in construction projects including hydropower projects.
 Experience in managing a large team with a variety of technical competencies.
 Good working level of English
 Knowledge of Hmong language is an advantage but not a requirement
 MS Office package
