JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN HYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENT
Nam Ngiep1 is a hydropower project under construction in the central provinces of the Lao PDR. The Nam Ngiep1 Power Company (NNP1), co-owned by Kansai Electric Power of Japan, EGAT International of Thailand, and the Lao Holding State Enterprise, is building a 290-MW power plant to provide clean renewable electricity and contribute to poverty reduction. To assist in creating a world-class power plant with international-standard environmental and social programs, Nam Ngiep 1 is looking for a Senior Officer – Resource Center Management (Lao national preferred) as follow:
POSITION: SENIOR OFFICER - RESOURCE CENTER MANAGEMENT
(Based in Houay Soup Resource Center, Bolikhan District, Bolikhamxay Province)
Manages the day-to-day operation of the Houay Soup Resource Center (HSRC) Office.
Arranges for the day-to-day administrative activities of HSRC, including but not limited to the monthly operation
plan, preparing operation budget requests, purchase requests, transportation requests, stationary requests etc.
Ensures that the HSRC Office, Training Room, Accommodation and Houay Soup Resettlement Area (HSRA) garden
are maintained and in clean and good conditions.
Ensures that the HSRC Office equipment are maintained in good conditions and operational when required.
Prepares the Annual Plan for livelihood experiments with inputs from the Livelihood Team members.
Supports Livelihood Officers with the preparation of their livelihood experiment including the implementation
plan, budget plan, schedule, and monitoring and evaluation plan.
Establishes and supervises the use of a monitoring system for all experiments conducted at the HSRC.
Manages training facilities on a daily basis.
Ensures that the training facilities are ready for training courses.
Assists livelihood staff in preparation of training curriculums and training materials.
Works closely with the Information Team to organize appropriate information reporting, digitization and storage.
Prepares the weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on the HSRC activities and submits them on time to the
Livelihood Team Leader.
Performs other tasks related to the HSRC and livelihood activities for the Social Management Office as they may
arise and are reasonably assigned by the Livelihoods Team Leader or the Deputy Manager - Resettlement and Livelihood Restoration.
University degree in Agriculture or related field.
Minimum 10 years of work experience, preferably for construction projects including hydropower projects.
Experience in managing a large team with a variety of technical competencies.
Good working level of English
Knowledge of Hmong language is an advantage but not a requirement
MS Office package
